TITLE: Individual Giving Manager
REPORTS TO: Director of Fund Development
LOCATION: North Salem Office, Hybrid
FLSA STATUS: Full-Time, Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY:
Friends of Karen seeks a dynamic, strategic, and relationship-driven fundraising professional to lead our individual giving, annual campaigns, and donor stewardship efforts. This role is responsible for designing and executing comprehensive strategies to acquire, retain, and upgrade individual donors, ensuring they feel deeply connected to our mission. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of data-informed strategy, exceptional communication skills, and a genuine passion for cultivating meaningful donor relationships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Individual Giving & Donor Stewardship
- Develop and implement data-driven strategies to systemically acquire, retain, and upgrade individual donors.
- Manage an active portfolio of individual donors and prospects through personalized outreach, customized stewardship, and targeted cultivation activities.
- Create and execute comprehensive donor stewardship plans to ensure supporters feel deeply appreciated, well-informed, and meaningfully connected to Friends of Karen's mission.
- Develop and manage a robust new donor welcome and engagement program to maximize first-year retention.
- Closely monitor donor retention, renewal, and upgrade rates. leveraging data to recommend and implement continuous improvements.
- Oversee and elevate Friends of Karen's donor recognition and recognition initiatives.
Annual Giving & Direct Response
- Oversee all annual giving campaigns including direct mail, digital appeals, year-end campaigns including Giving Tuesday, and multi-channel donor communications.
- Coordinate full-cycle campaign planning, including content development, audience segmentation, list management, production schedules, vendor relationships, and post-campaign performance tracking.
Monthly & Planned Giving
- Design and implement growth strategies for Friends of Karen's monthly giving program, introduce unique stewardship opportunities to strengthen monthly donor retention.
- Support and expand the planned giving program; manage planned giving marketing and assist donors and prospects in navigating legacy giving opportunities.
Donor Research & Pipeline Development
- Conduct ongoing donor and prospect research to identify opportunities for deeper engagement and increased giving capacity.
- Partner with organizational leadership to develop tailored cultivation strategies for key prospects and emerging major donors.
- Prepare comprehensive donor profiles, research reports, and briefing materials for leadership prior to donor meetings and events.
Collaboration & Organizational Support
- Work collaboratively with the fund development team and Friends of Karen’s Executive Director to ensure highly coordinated donor engagement and stewardship strategies across all channels.
- Design and execute post-event follow-up strategies to systemically transition event attendees, ticket buyers, and peer-to-peer participants to long-term individual donors.
- Provide strategic and logistical support to leadership in their high-level donor relationship-building activities.
- Represent Friends of Karen and engage with supporters at key donor events and stewardship activities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent profession experience required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit development.
- Demonstrated track record of success in donor stewardship, annual giving campaigns, donor communications, or relationship-based fundraising
- Strong understanding of fundraising best practices, donor engagement strategies, and move management principles.
- Familiarity with monthly giving and planned giving mechanisms is a plus.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; ability to tell a compelling story and build rapport with diverse stakeholders (donors, volunteers, staff, and community leaders).
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency with donor databases and CRM systems; experience with Raiser's Edge is highly preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

- Some travel within the Tri-State as needed.

· Ability to travel within the Tri-State area as needed for donor visits, meetings, and events. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for key organizational events.
· Ability to occasionally lift and transport materials (up to 20 lbs.)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
