Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a wide variety of heavy-duty equipment, including trucks, industrial machinery, and farm equipment. As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our fleet running smoothly and efficiently, supporting our commitment to excellence in service and operations.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, and electrical systems using schematics and automotive electrical system repair techniques.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, air brake inspections, wheel alignments, and vehicle inspections for trucks, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy equipment.
- Fabricate parts or modify existing components using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific operational needs.
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial equipment safely and efficiently during repair or maintenance procedures.
- Utilize detailed schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems and perform precise repairs on heavy equipment used in construction, farming, or industrial settings.
- Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety standards such as air brake regulations and OSHA guidelines.
- Assist with assembly of new equipment or parts as needed; support heavy lifting tasks with proper safety protocols.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with heavy truck repair or industrial equipment maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems for vehicles and machinery.
- Skilled in automotive diagnostics and electrical system repair; able to interpret schematics accurately.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; proficient with power tools and hand tools.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts safely; familiar with heavy equipment operation standards.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures for farm machinery, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, and automotive repair.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting; comfortable working in various environmental conditions; detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
