CONNECTIONS COORDINATOR
Reports to: Executive Pastor
Works Closely With: Lead Pastor, Communications Director, Staff Team
Hours: 20 Hours
Job Description: The Connections Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to welcome, connect, and integrate new visitors into the life of the church. This role involves managing programs and activities that foster a sense of belonging and engagement, ensuring that new attendees transition smoothly into active participants within the church community.
Primary Responsibilities
1. First Time Guest Follow Up
Manage and improve the church’s guest assimilation process by overseeing guest follow up. This consists of:
-Managing Planning Center guest work flow
-Managing automated guest texting work flow
-Personally contacting guests after their first visit
2. Connection and engagement through Starting Point
Coordinate monthly Starting Point class
Responsible for first time guests attending starting point - targeting 50% move from guest to Starting Point
3. Post Starting Point engagement
Ensure timely follow up for Starting Point attendees
Make sure each attendee takes their next step into serving and Growth Track - targeting that 75% of Starting Point attendees start serving within 2 weeks
4. Lead Connections Volunteer Teams:
- Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers and leaders who assist with the assimilation process, including First Time Guest follow up volunteers, Starting Point volunteers and other teams as needed.
-The Connections Coordinator will also serve as a leader within Guest Services and will be responsible for a team within the ministry.
- Develop and implement volunteer appreciation and recognition programs for teams.
5. Ministry Development:
- Assess the effectiveness of current assimilation strategies and recommend improvements.
- Stay informed about best practices in church assimilation and incorporate new ideas and methods as appropriate.
6. Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to assimilation activities, specifically tracking first time guests, Starting Point attendance, Growth Track participation, and new mission partners.
- Prepare and manage the assimilation budget.
- Attend weekly staff meetings and participate in church-wide planning and events.
7. Leadership Development Opportunities
- Opportunities for leadership development such as leadership training, preaching/teaching, and church planting experience are available.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in the life of the church as a Mission Partner: i.e. Life Group, Core Group, Worship, giving of time, treasure (10% of income to Point Church) and talent. These things are expected of every staff member and must be modeled.
- Participate in all scheduled staff meetings and staff development times.
- Complete duties in a timely manner as set by the supervisor.
- Work in partnership with the pastoral team and assist as needed (e.g. preaching, counseling, hospital visits).
- Agree to and support The Point Church statement of faith as stated in the church’s by-laws.
- Abide by budget allocations.
- Report monthly the status and health of the assigned ministry.
- Ensure that you are spending time daily in prayer and studying God’s Word so that you can lead others out of a growing relationship with Christ.
- Comply with staff expectations as outlined in the Staff Handbook.
- Other duties as assigned.

Weekly Hours: 20 hours
Sunday: 7:30am-1:00pm - 5.5 hours
Monday: 9:30am-3:30pm - 6 hours
Tuesday-Saturday: 8.5 hours flexible
Pay: $12,000.00 - $18,000.00 per year
