Education – Incumbent must have successfully completed a post-high school sonography program.
Experience – A minimum one year (1) of relevant work experience preferred.
Licenses & Certification – Current ARRT, RDMS, and/or RVT registered or registry eligible is preferred and must possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Knowledge & Skills –
The purpose of the position is to aid the Radiologist in performing specific sonographic examinations and also perform certain routine sonographic examinations, as well assist fellow technologists, as described in the Radiology Department’s Policies and Procedures.
Work is performed in hospital and clinic environments. There is common exposure to infectious communicable disease, potentially hazardous chemicals, and biohazardous materials. Incumbent must be aware of all risks involved and be willing to take precautions as required and requested. Special attire may be required as protection against infection and radiation.
Work requires long periods of standing and walking. Working with patients requires recurring bending, stooping, stretching and positioning patients. Ability to lift 50 pounds is required to perform positional duties. Incumbent will also have to cope with frequent changes in a stressful environment.
