The Charles Restaurant & Bar provides a seasonally inspired menu featuring the highest quality foods and beverage selection. We are looking for an experienced bartender with a friendly and professional demeanor, a focus on providing exceptional service, and strong experience with classic and craft cocktails. Upscale or fine dining experience required.
Bartender Duties and Responsibilities:
- Full time availability required (availability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays)
- Maintain professional appearance standards as directed by The Charles
- Anticipate and accommodate the needs of the guests; provide skilled and outstanding service
- Welcome guests, observe and listen to guests to determine beverage preferences, make recommendations, and take drink orders
- Learn and perfect recipes to ensure quality and consistency
- Check identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol
- Adhere to all food safety and quality regulations
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register
- Maintain a clean work and dining area
- Ensure dependable delivery of all food and beverage to the guests
- Follow restaurant policies including management directives, communicate with and support co-workers as a team player
- Possess in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage menus and the company
- Thoroughly complete all pre and end-of-shift procedures including side work
- Attend and participate in trainings and meetings
- Learn by listening and observing and sharing knowledge while leading by example
- Portray a positive attitude
- Maintain professionalism and poise in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
Skills and Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years upscale or fine dining restaurant bartending experience required
- Craft cocktail experience required
- Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and stay calm under pressure
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail, cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols
- Patience and a customer-oriented approach; Positive, engaging, and professional with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Conscientious, honest, respectful
- A problem solver with strong task and time management abilities
- Additional education, training, certificates, or experience is a plus
