Job Summary:
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Scholarship Coordinator manages scholarship programs, oversees recruitment, applications and disbursements, data management and reporting and provides support to students and committees.
Job Duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, implement and maintain scholarship program.
- Program Administration: Oversee the full scholarship process from application to fund disbursement, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with policies.
- Applicant Support: Assist students and parents with scholarship inquiries, eligibility requirements, and application guidance.
- Committee Coordination: Plan, schedule, and support scholarship selection committee meetings, including preparing materials, managing logistics, and documenting outcomes.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate records, update databases, track applications, and generate reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Recruitment, Outreach and Promotion: Advertise scholarship opportunities, engage with the community, and support donor relations to enhance program visibility.
- Administrative Support: Handle scheduling, travel arrangements, correspondence, and other logistical tasks to support program and staff.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct background research on trends, funding opportunities, and best practices to inform program strategy.
- Prepare reports and documentation for administrators, accrediting agencies, and educational boards.
- Coordinate policy updates, revisions, and alignment with program needs and best practices.
- Availability for travel that may be required.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
- No supervisory responsibility.
- Assignments received in broad terms with timelines and objectives set.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university; no substitutions.
- 3 years of minimum experience required in student recruitment, scholarship advisor, or customer service.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.

- The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
- Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for childcare.
