*Job Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Installation Technician to join our trash and linen chute team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in simple electrical systems, low voltage installations, and mechanical knowledge.
This role involves working primarily in new construction environments to install newly fabricated trash chute and linen chute systems according to industry standards and customer specifications. The Installation Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring that all installations are completed efficiently and safely.
*Duties*
- Install and configure new trash chute and linen chute systems, their electrical interlock door systems and low voltage cabling.
- Read and interpret blueprints to accurately execute installation plans.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively to connect chute pieces.
- Conduct field service visits to troubleshoot and resolve issues with installed systems.
- Ensure compliance with (NFPA) National Fire Protection Association standards during all installations.
-Ensure compliance with ADA as it pertains to door handle heights
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with superintendents regarding installation processes and timelines.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on installed equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Document all work performed, including any changes made during the installation process.
*Requirements*
- Proven experience as a Service Technician or similar role in the installation field.
-Understanding of multi-family construction, specifically framing and drywall knowledge or experience is helpful
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to work with various power tools.
- Familiarity with low voltage systems is preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams accurately.
- Knowledge of chute system is a plus but not required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by company policies.
