Duties
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment efficiently to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Support the culinary team by preparing ingredients for menu items according to recipes and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with food safety management protocols, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
- Maintain a tidy work area by regularly cleaning surfaces, floors, and storage areas to promote a safe kitchen environment.
- Assist with meal assembly and catering support as needed to ensure timely service delivery.
- Follow all safety standards in production, including proper use of equipment and adherence to health regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable.
- Experience working in food service environments such as restaurants or catering is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and food handling procedures.
- Basic culinary skills including knife handling, slicing techniques, and food preparation methods.
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and cooking processes is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting kitchen operations.
