Accent Landscape Contractors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Landscape Maintenance Manager to lead our commercial landscape maintenance division in El Paso, Texas.
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for the daily performance, profitability, safety, and continued growth of the maintenance division. The Maintenance Manager will oversee approximately 10 maintenance crews servicing more than 200 commercial properties and will work closely with field supervisors, account managers, purchasing, administrative staff, and company leadership.
The successful candidate must be a strong leader who can hold employees accountable, develop supervisors and crew leaders, manage multiple priorities, communicate professionally with customers, and consistently deliver high-quality landscape maintenance services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations and Scheduling
- Direct and manage the daily operations of the commercial landscape maintenance division.
- Schedule and route crews, equipment, vehicles, and materials to ensure all contracted services are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Review daily and weekly production schedules and make adjustments based on staffing, weather, customer needs, and field conditions.
- Coordinate special projects, seasonal work, irrigation repairs, enhancements, cleanups, and other additional services.
- Ensure crews understand each property’s scope of work, schedule, quality requirements, and customer expectations.
- Monitor labor hours, overtime, route efficiency, and production performance.
Leadership and Employee Development
- Lead, supervise, train, and develop field supervisors, crew leaders, technicians, and maintenance employees.
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and employee retention.
- Conduct regular meetings with supervisors and crew leaders to review schedules, safety, quality, staffing, and customer concerns.
- Establish clear expectations and hold employees accountable for attendance, productivity, safety, workmanship, and professional conduct.
- Identify high-performing employees and develop them for future leadership opportunities.
- Promote a professional, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
Quality Control
- Perform routine property inspections to verify that all work meets company standards and contract requirements.
- Identify deficiencies and provide crews with clear corrective direction.
- Ensure proper mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, weed control, fertilization, seasonal color care, irrigation monitoring, cleanup, and general property appearance.
- Verify that corrective work and customer concerns are addressed promptly and properly documented.
- Develop consistent quality-control procedures across all maintenance crews.
Customer Service and Account Retention
- Build and maintain professional relationships with property managers, owners, general contractors, and other customers.
- Respond promptly to customer questions, service requests, and concerns.
- Meet with customers as needed to review property conditions, service quality, upcoming needs, and improvement opportunities.
- Assist with contract renewals, customer retention, and the development of additional enhancement opportunities.
- Communicate customer expectations clearly to field supervisors and verify that commitments are completed.
Financial Management
- Manage the maintenance division’s revenue goals, labor costs, materials, equipment expenses, and overall profitability.
- Review job-cost reports, labor reports, production hours, overtime, and account performance.
- Identify underperforming accounts and implement corrective plans to improve service efficiency or profitability.
- Assist with estimating, pricing, contract renewals, enhancement proposals, and annual budget preparation.
Safety and Compliance
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture throughout the maintenance division.
- Conduct or coordinate regular safety meetings, equipment training, and job-specific training.
- Ensure employees follow company safety policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Investigate accidents, injuries, property damage, and vehicle incidents and ensure proper documentation and corrective action.
- Ensure company vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment are operated safely and maintained in good working condition.
- Oversee compliance with pesticide, fertilizer, irrigation, driver, and equipment-operation requirements.
Equipment and Material Management
- Coordinate equipment, vehicle, tool, and material needs with purchasing and company leadership.
- Monitor equipment condition and schedule preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Maintain accountability for company vehicles, equipment, tools, fuel, chemicals, and materials.
- Ensure crews have the proper equipment and materials before dispatching to their assigned routes.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of three years of commercial landscape maintenance experience.
- Minimum of three years in a landscape management, operations, account management, or field-supervision position.
- Proven experience managing multiple crews and commercial landscape accounts.
- Strong knowledge of turf care, plant identification, pruning, irrigation, fertilization, weed control, seasonal maintenance, and general horticultural practices.
- Experience with scheduling, routing, labor management, job costing, budgeting, and quality control.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining a professional and productive work environment.
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers, field employees, vendors, and company leadership.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, mobile applications, and electronic scheduling or work-order systems.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors, visit multiple properties, and respond to operational issues as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Texas Landscape Irrigator License, pesticide applicator license, or other relevant landscape-industry certifications.
- Experience managing a commercial maintenance division with multiple supervisors, crew leaders, and service routes.

WORK SCHEDULE
This is a full-time management position. The Maintenance Manager must be available during early-morning crew dispatch and may occasionally be required to work extended hours, weekends, or respond to urgent customer, irrigation, weather, staffing, or equipment-related issues.
