Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accountant to join our agency to support our extended day services. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, support budgeting and financial analysis, and facilitate smooth financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform account reconciliations for general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using Quickbooks. Manage collections and billing inquiries.
- Prepare semi-monthly payroll using Quickbooks.
- Handle confidential information responsibly while providing exceptional customer service to internal teams and external vendors.
- Support budgeting processes, cost analysis, and financial planning initiatives.
- Submit tax and state reports in a timely manner
- Set-up billing for new registrations.
- Collaborate with auditors during financial review by preparing necessary documentation and explanations of account activities.
- Communicate professionally with families and staff.
Experience
- Proven accounting experience. Experience in non-profit accounting a plus.
- Familiarity with Quickbooks.
- Demonstrated ability in account reconciliation, balance sheet management, and journal entry preparation.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently in fast-paced environments.
- Adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Experience with Procare software a plus.
- Min 3-5 years accounting experience
- Associates or Bachelors degree required
