We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Teacher specializing in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) for middle school students in grades 6 through 8. Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in science, mathematics, and technology disciplines.
- Incorporate educational technology tools to enhance classroom instruction and student engagement.
- Facilitate laboratory experiments, dissections, and research projects in biology, microbiology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, and molecular biology to deepen scientific understanding.
- Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and support students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a positive learning environment conducive to inquiry and collaboration.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation and project-based assessments.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing IT-integrated lessons to ensure consistency and educational excellence.
- Mentor students in scientific research projects, lab techniques, and academic advising to nurture their curiosity and academic growth.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and participation; ensure compliance with educational regulations.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to STEM education, instructional design, educational technology integration, and special education practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education with a focus on Science or Mathematics; Master’s preferred.
- Proven experience teaching middle school students in a classroom setting with a focus on STEM subjects.
- Strong knowledge of core scientific disciplines including biology (cell biology, genetics), chemistry (organic chemistry), physics (geometry, trigonometry), calculus, differential equations, discrete math, microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and genetics.
- Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum content that aligns with educational standards across multiple disciplines.
- Proficiency in integrating learning technology tools into lesson plans; experience with instructional software is highly desirable.
- Excellent classroom management skills combined with the ability to adapt instruction for diverse learners.
- Effective communication skills for engaging students, collaborating with colleagues, and working with parents or guardians.
- Experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds; familiarity with special education needs is a plus.
- Prior experience in laboratory settings or research laboratories is advantageous for guiding hands-on activities.
- Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and educational compliance requirements.
- Ability to mentor students in scientific research projects or extracurricular STEM activities; experience in private school environments is beneficial.
