Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Educator Certification
- Background in school social work or counseling, with direct experience supporting K–2nd graders
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively partner with students, teachers, and families
- Ability to adapt counseling strategies to meet a variety of needs and learning styles
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional ethical standards
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct counseling services to students in grades K–2, fostering positive emotional and social growth
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to identify student needs and implement support plans
- Deliver age-appropriate interventions, classroom guidance lessons, and group or individual sessions
- Assist in crisis intervention, behavioral management, and the development of coping strategies
- Maintain accurate records and document progress according to district policies
