Commercial Roofing Repair Technician
Location: Blue Springs Missouri
We are a well-established commercial roofing contractor operating throughout the Kansas City Metro and surrounding area and are seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Repair Technician to perform repairs from investigation through completion.
A Commercial Roof Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various roofing systems on commercial buildings such as warehouses, offices, and industrial centers. This role requires specialized knowledge of low-slope or flat roofing materials and strict adherence to industrial safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- System Installation & Repair: Install and repair commercial roofing membranes, including TPO, PVC, EPDM, and Modified Bitumen.
- Leak Diagnosis: Perform professional inspections to investigate and troubleshoot leaks or structural damage.
- Maintenance: Conduct routine preventative maintenance, such as cleaning debris and resealing flashing, to extend roof longevity.
- Documentation: Use digital apps or tablets to take "before and after" photos and complete detailed repair reports.
- Safety Compliance: Strictly follow OSHA guidelines, use fall protection equipment, and maintain a safe job site.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Requires 1–3+ years of experience in commercial roofing or general construction.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with specialized tools like heat welders, torches, and roofing knives.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50–80 lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights in all weather conditions.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Administrative: A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Preferred Certifications
- Safety: OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification.
- Trade: National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) certifications.
- Manufacturer: Training from brands like Carlisle, GAF, or Firestone.
