The Service Manager carries the service department’s P&L and is responsible for service revenue and margin, technician productivity, customer satisfaction, and a safe, well-developed team.
This role requires travel within the Birmingham, Montgomery, and Tuscaloosa markets as needed.
You will:
- Lead all service operations, including field service, in-shop repairs, preventive maintenance programs, warranty administration, and parts fulfillment.
- Manage technician scheduling, dispatch, and daily operations while driving key performance metrics such as first-time fix rate, on-time completion, throughput, and backlog management.
- Oversee department financial performance, including P&L, labor, parts, warranty recovery, budgeting, and service profitability.
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing service team while fostering a safety-first culture and ensuring compliance with company, fleet, and DOT regulations.
- Manage parts inventory, service fleet, tools, and shop equipment to support efficient and reliable service operations.
- Partner with the sales team to support service agreements, warranty programs, and post-sale customer support, serving as the primary escalation point for service-related issues.
- Establish, monitor, and report service KPIs while ensuring accurate documentation, billing, warranty claims, and ERP/service management system data integrity.

You have:
- 5+ years of experience in service, field operations, or equipment service management, including at least 2 years in a leadership role; preferably supporting industrial or commercial cleaning equipment or material handling equipment
- Demonstrated experience managing departmental budgets, P&L, or operating expenses
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with the ability to support equipment troubleshooting and repair operations
- Experience using service management, dispatch, and ERP systems to manage service operations
- Experience in B2B Distribution and knowledge of manufacturer warranty administration and claims processes a plus!
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
