Job Description: Sterile Processing Technician - Ambulatory Surgery Center
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at our Ambulatory Surgery Center. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and ready for use in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols and guidelines
- Inspect instruments and equipment for damage, defects, and wear and tear, and report any issues to management
- Assemble, package, and label surgical instruments and equipment for use in upcoming procedures
- Maintain inventory of sterile supplies and equipment
- Ensure that all equipment and work areas are properly cleaned, disinfected, and organized
- Monitor and record sterilization equipment parameters, such as temperature, pressure, and exposure time, to ensure proper functioning
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and hazardous material handling procedures
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Sterile Processing Technician program preferred
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST or CBSPD) preferred
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control principles, and medical terminology
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
