This role leads and manages comprehensive tax engagements for public accounting clients, providing strategic tax advice and serving as a primary relationship manager. The Tax Manager guides clients through complex tax challenges, identifies opportunities for growth, and mentors emerging tax professionals within the firm.
Schedule: Full-time, hybrid work environment with no mandatory office schedule.
Compensation: $100,000 to $150,000 per year.
What You'll Do
The Tax Manager spearheads complex tax engagements from initial planning through final delivery, conducting thorough reviews of tax returns, research, and consulting projects. The role includes advising clients on proactive tax strategies to minimize exposure, and acting as the primary advisor and relationship manager for assigned clients. The Tax Manager mentors and develops emerging tax professionals, oversees multiple engagements, budgets, and timelines simultaneously, and identifies opportunities to provide additional value to clients beyond standard compliance work.
Required Qualifications
- CPA, EA, CA, or similar professional designation
- 8 to 15 years of public accounting tax experience with escalating responsibility
- Strong technical tax, research, and planning expertise
- Proven experience managing client relationships and complex engagements
- Exceptional communication and leadership capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience mentoring or developing junior tax staff
- Background advising clients on tax strategies beyond routine compliance
- Experience managing multiple concurrent engagements, budgets, and timelines
