About the Role:
The Night Store Manager is responsible for leading all evening store operations, ensuring the successful execution of closing procedures, operational standards, merchandising, safety, and associate performance. This role partners closely with Store Leadership to maintain a clean, safe, and customer-ready environment while preparing the store for the next business day.
The Night Store Manager plays a critical role in supervising associates, maintaining operational efficiency, protecting company assets, and ensuring every shift ends with the store fully prepared for the following day’s success.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead, coach, and develop overnight associates while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee all nightly store operations, ensuring company standards are consistently executed across every department.
- Execute closing procedures, including securing the building, balancing operational priorities, and preparing the store for the next business day.
- Ensure merchandising, cleanliness, organization, and product presentation meet company expectations throughout the store.
- Monitor inventory conditions, identify merchandising opportunities, and address operational issues as they arise.
- Review daily operational reports, sales activity, and end-of-day processes to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, security procedures, and all applicable regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety by maintaining a clean, secure environment for associates and customers.
- Respond to customer concerns and support exceptional customer service whenever needed.
- Partner with Store Leadership to communicate operational updates, maintenance needs, staffing concerns, and nightly performance.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience leading teams in grocery retail, retail operations, or high-volume customer service environments.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and associate development skills.
- Experience managing store operations, inventory, cash handling, and operational execution.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using retail technology, point-of-sale systems, and operational reporting tools.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight schedules as business needs require.
Ideal Background:
Experience as a Night Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Grocery Manager, Operations Manager, Front-End Manager, Department Manager, or other retail leadership role is highly valued.
Previous grocery retail experience and experience leading high-performing teams are preferred.
