Creative Grounds is a new non-profit Arts Center opening in Lyons, Colorado. We are opening our doors on September 1st, 2026 and are seeking to hire an experienced pottery studio manager. We have a large pottery studio with 12 wheels, 2 large slab building tables and 2 kilns. The Pottery Studio Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, support members and guests, and teach foundational ceramic techniques on the wheel and slab.

The Studio will be open Tues through Sunday. Hours can be negotiable but some weekends and eves will be required.
Job description & Position Overview:
This role is ideal for a practicing ceramic artist who enjoys working with people, maintaining a well-run studio, and helping foster a welcoming, creative environment. This role could also be a job share.
The Pottery Studio Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the studio, supporting other pottery studio staff, teaching foundational and ceramic techniques, and working closely with the Programming Director to execute workshops, special events, and guest artist programming.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the pottery studio, ensuring a safe, organized, and inspiring environment
- Teach pottery techniques, including wheel throwing, hand building, glazing and surface decoration
- Assist with and support special workshops, events, and classes taught by guest artists
- Collaborate with the Programming Director to help execute scheduled programming
- Maintain studio cleanliness, including tools, equipment, and shared workspaces
- Track, manage, and restock clay, glazes, tools, and other studio inventory
- Operate and maintain POS system for class registrations, memberships, and retail transactions
- Monitor kiln schedules and basic studio workflows (training provided)
- Serve as a welcoming ambassador for Creative Grounds mission and community values
Qualifications:
- Experience running a ceramics or pottery studio (wheel throwing and hand building required)
- Ability to teach beginner/intermediate pottery classes to groups
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Friendly, patient, and community-oriented demeanor
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the pottery studio, including ordering of supplies and maintenance of equipment to ensure a safe, organized and functioning environment
- Teach pottery techniques, including wheel throwing, hand building, glazing and surface decoration
- Assist with and support special workshops, events, and classes taught by guest artists
- Collaborate with the Programming Director to help execute scheduled programming
- Maintain studio cleanliness, including tools, equipment, and shared workspaces
- Comfortable teaching beginner/intermediate-level pottery techniques to classes
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Upbeat, friendly, easy going and community-oriented demeanor
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve in a studio setting
- POS system experience preferred (or willingness to learn)

- W-2 Employee
- Annual Salary: $65,000 (pro rata for job share)
