Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our commercial painting team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs and preparing detailed estimates. . Your expertise will help ensure competitive pricing while maintaining profitability, contributing directly to the successful execution of high-quality projects. Responsibilities
- Review construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications to interpret project scope and requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates by analyzing material costs, labor, equipment, and subcontractor quotes using estimating software.
- Deep understanding of paint types, coverage rates, surface preparation methods and labor productivity rates.
- Utilize construction management software, Bluebeam and ProCore to review plans, annotate drawings, and streamline estimating workflows.
- Develop detailed spreadsheets for material requirements, cost control, and project scheduling to ensure precise planning.
- Conduct site visits when necessary to gather on-the-ground insights that influence accurate estimations including but not limited to surface conditions and prep work needed.
- Support project managers with bid proposals and value engineering initiatives to optimize project outcomes.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating software such as Oncenter or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam for blueprint reading and markup review; excellent skills in interpreting technical drawings.
- Solid understanding of construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Demonstrated ability to estimate material costs accurately from blueprints and manage overall project budgets effectively.
- Strong communication skills to clearly articulate estimates and collaborate across teams effectively.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
