Testing Technicians
O'Connell Electric Company, Inc., in partnership with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W) is looking for a hard-working and well-qualified Testing Technicians. This position is a union position and will be part of the I.B.E.W.
The rate of pay and benefits offered are outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the I.B.E.W. The I.B.E.W. offers competitive pay with a range of $42.50-$78.76, and union benefits:

The successful candidate will demonstrate technical excellence, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety while delivering reliable testing, commissioning, and maintenance services for critical electrical infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Journeyman-level electrical experience or licensure is required.
- Extensive firsthand experience with high, medium, and low-voltage systems, ensuring the safe and reliable performance of electrical equipment across a variety of client sites.
- Excel in technical diagnostics, field testing, and team leadership, while adhering to industry standards and safety protocols.
- Strong knowledge of medium & low voltage switchgear, breakers, transformers, motors, PT's, CT's and or protective relays.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, and construction drawings.
- Minimum 5 years of electrical testing, commissioning, and maintenance experience (480V–750kV).
- Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems.
- Proficiency in interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Preferred certificates held from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) and/or from the International Electrical Testing Association (NETA).
- Physical ability to climb ladders, work in field conditions, stand for prolonged periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Ability to travel to project sites and work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends when required.
