Job Description:
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and experienced CDL Class A Driver/and/or box truck driver with a valid medical card for local routes. The driver will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various destinations within the local area while ensuring timely and efficient delivery. This full-time, local driving position does not require overnight travel. Monday – Friday.
Duties:
- Operate a Class A truck to transport goods locally, following assigned delivery routes, adhering to schedules, and optimizing delivery times to meet customer needs.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation and compliance with safety standards.
- Secure products by safety regulations to prevent shifting during transport.
- Complete necessary paperwork, including delivery receipts, logs, and inspection reports, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Communicate with dispatch or management regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Assist in loading and unloading products if required.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
- Maintain positive customer interactions, address concerns, and ensure a professional delivery experience.
- Driving no further than 150 nautical miles does not require a Elog book for DOT.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Driving Skills: You need a valid CDL Class A driver's license and a clean driving record. Good driving skills, safety awareness, and handling various driving conditions are crucial.
- Navigation Skills: Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and reading and interpreting maps are essential for effective route planning.
- Communication: Effective communication skills are needed to interact with customers and colleagues.
- Time Management: Efficiently managing your time to meet delivery deadlines is a key aspect of the role.
- Problem Solving: Successful deliveries require the ability to handle unexpected situations, such as traffic delays or route changes.
- Attention to Detail: Accurate record-keeping and ensuring the correct delivery of packages require attention to detail.
Job Requirements:
Wage Range: 20.00 - 22.00 per hour
