Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist Boerne to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Perform blood sampling procedures using various techniques to accommodate patient needs and ensure sample integrity.
- Verify patient identities and explain procedures clearly to foster comfort and cooperation.
- Maintain strict adherence to health and safety protocols, including manual handling and infection control standards.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) and document all procedures accurately within medical documentation systems.
- Report patient conditions or reactions during procedures promptly to supervising medical staff.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providing health education about blood collection processes and post-procedure care.
- Support other clinical activities such as specimen labeling, processing, and transportation as required.
Experience
- Prior experience in a clinical or hospital setting, particularly in acute care environments or diagnostic radiology units.
- Demonstrated proficiency in blood sampling techniques, including venipuncture and capillary puncture.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for medical documentation management.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to phlebotomy and patient care.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations, including those requiring critical care or plastic surgery procedures.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR is highly preferred, along with any state-specific phlebotomy certifications.
- Exposure to nursing practices or clinic experience that enhances understanding of patient service and healthcare workflows is advantageous.
