Global Calibration Gases, a leading manufacturer and supplier of specialty gases serving independent distributors across the globe, is seeking a QC Lab Technician to join their team in Sarasota, FL.
If you have prior experience working as a QC lab technician, as well as a high school diploma or GED, Global Calibration Gases wants to hear from you!
In this role, you will perform a variety of duties related to testing gases and reporting and interpreting data within the lab. The QC lab tech will follow all the compliance, environmental and safety requirements in all areas of operations.

Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a QC lab
- Self-motivated and an effective problem solver
- Ability to work Monday – Friday, 6am to 3pm
- Ability to read and comprehend safety data sheets
- Basic mathematical skills
- Proficient with MS Office applications
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, speak and hear.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines
- Frequent standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; may climb, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to perform very heavy work—routinely lift 25lbs to 50lbs. Also required to push and pull liquid containers weighing up to 1000 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
- Must be able to work outdoors in temperatures over 100 degrees.
- Higher education and/or experience in production, manufacturing, quality control, gas industry, laboratory work, are a plus but not required.
Essential duties/responsibilities:
- Report and interpret data from testing gas mixes
- Employee will use different lab equipment from gas chromatography, flow meters and computers
- Employee will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the lab equipment
- Must be able to work independently
- Employee will communicate with production and shipping about the different orders as required
- Follow ISO17025 and ISO17034 guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned.
