Job Overview

Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring thorough removal of plaque and tartar.
- Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental concerns to tailor treatment plans.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while maintaining strict infection prevention protocols.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately, documenting all patient interactions, assessments, and treatment details in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain a sterile environment by adhering to infection control standards and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety at all times.
Skills
- Proficiency with dental software Eaglesoft for scheduling, documentation review, and record management.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding relevant to dental care.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with children in a clinical setting.
- Ability to operate dental equipment effectively, including X-ray machines, ultrasonic scalers, and other hygiene tools.
- Excellent client communication skills to educate patients about their oral health while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
- Healthcare infection prevention and control expertise to uphold the highest standards of safety and hygiene within the practice.
