Double Disk Production Grinding
Listed below are the job responsibilities on what will be going on for the majority of the day. When hired the employee will start off as a Feeder and be trained to become a Grinder. Engauge is seeking someone to grow with company and be able to advance to be the team leaders assistant. Must have mechanical skills to be able to wrench on machines at times, be able to train to be a setup man, and trouble shoot problems.
A Grinder’s job duty is to verify washers/shims with a Digital Brunswick Verifier as they come out of the machine and to keep them in spec by adjusting the grinder wheels manually. The Feeder places the parts on machine to keep it full on one side and parts fall out on the grinder side. Parts then get dumped into a basket until job is complete.
Must be able to get along with others as you will be working next to someone all day, Hilo experience a plus but will train, basic computer skills, be on time show up every day, and must follow company values.
Grinder’s responsibilities are:
- Setting up machine. Adjusting Guides and Dressing
- Grinding parts and keeping them in spec per work order
- Maintaining micrometer or Brunswick – Keep it clean use spray daily
- Filling out blue Identification/Traceability cards
- Production reporting in the Computer system-IQMS
- Getting raw material and material handling parts to the designated area.
- Making sure water flow is good and adjusted right - base should be full
- Keep track of all tools and replace as needed
- Keeping rework/scrap parts to a minimum.
- Rework the parts right away if possible
Feeder’s responsibilities are:
- Setting up the feeder side of the machine to fit the different size parts
- Unjamming when there is a jam up
- Clean everything off the floor. wrappers, gloves, whatever
- Red rags go in garbage can in bathroom.
- Keep the parts table clean and organized.
- Clean off Grinder carts on top and underneath
- Clean out grinder tray front and back
- Lift up matts and clean underneath them
- Vacuum all water off floor
- Keep area clean and organized
- Clean out machine when wheels are out
- Clean out the bolt holes on backup plates for grinder wheels
- Changeover wheels on plates
- Be able to stand on feet all day
- Load parts into a machine at a steady pace
- Learn with Grinder to set up machine over time
- Keep an organized and clean work area
