Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in all phases of civil litigation from pre-litigation through trial. The Litigation Paralegal will manage case files, draft pleadings and motions, coordinate discovery and e-discovery, assist with trial preparation, and work closely with clients, insurers, and opposing counsel to advance favorable outcomes. The ideal candidate has strong legal research and writing skills, experience with insurance defense and coverage analysis, and proficiency with common case management, document management, and e-discovery tools.
Key Responsibilities

Manage pre-litigation matters and case intake, including investigation, demand letters, and statute of limitations analysis.

Oversee pre-litigation management and file opening procedures, maintaining accurate case files and status logs.

Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and settlement correspondence.

Prepare and manage response to Requests for Production (RFPs), interrogatories, requests for admission, and other written discovery.

Coordinate e-discovery processes including preservation, collection, processing, review, and production using tools such as Relativity and Concordance.

Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other research tools.

Assist attorneys with deposition preparation, witness preparation, exhibit lists, and trial binders; manage evidence preservation and chain of custody.

Manage document review projects, redact privileged materials, and maintain privilege logs.

Perform coverage analysis and support insurance defense matters, including claims handling and insurer communications.

Assist with jurisdictional analysis, venue research, and pretrial motions related to statute of limitations and jurisdictional defenses.

E-file pleadings and court documents via PACER and other court e-filing portals; track court deadlines and calendar entry management.

Use case management and document management systems (Clio, PracticePanther, iManage, NetDocuments) to maintain client files, billing records, and matter workflow.

Prepare settlement analysis, assist with settlement negotiations, and draft settlement agreements and releases.

Communicate directly with clients to provide status updates, gather information, and counsel on procedural matters as directed by attorneys.

Maintain timekeeping and billing entries accurately and support billing reviews; collaborate with attorneys on cost and risk assessment.

Support regulatory compliance research and contract review as needed to assist litigation strategy and defense work.
Qualifications

Associate degree or Paralegal Certificate required; Bachelors degree preferred.

Minimum 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably employment law

Experience with e-discovery tools (Relativity, Concordance) and document review workflows.

Proficiency with document management systems (iManage, NetDocuments) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Working knowledge of PACER and court e-filing procedures and local court rules.

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple matters under tight deadlines.

Strong communication and client-relations skills, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional ethics.
