Senior Residential & Commercial Business Development Executive
SERVPRO of Portage & Kalamazoo Position Overview SERVPRO of Portage & Kalamazoo is seeking an accomplished, results-driven Business Development Executive to lead strategic growth initiatives throughout the greater Kalamazoo and Portage markets. This role is designed for a high-performing sales professional with a proven ability to cultivate executive-level relationships, generate new revenue opportunities, and establish SERVPRO as the preferred restoration and emergency response partner for commercial organizations and residential referral networks. The successful candidate will possess exceptional relationship management skills, a consultative sales approach, and a strong track record of developing long-term partnerships across insurance, commercial real estate, healthcare, education, manufacturing, government, and property management sectors. This individual will serve as a strategic ambassador for the SERVPRO brand while driving sustainable business growth and strengthening our presence throughout the communities we serve.
Strategic Business Development
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy that accelerates market share growth and expands SERVPRO's presence within targeted commercial and residential markets.
- Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities while expanding relationships with existing key accounts.
- Build executive-level partnerships with insurance carriers, independent agencies, adjusters, brokers, risk managers, commercial property owners, facility directors, and C-suite decision-makers.
- Develop strategic relationships with municipalities, healthcare systems, educational institutions, manufacturing organizations, hospitality groups, multifamily housing operators, and commercial real estate firms.
- Establish SERVPRO as the first-call restoration partner through proactive relationship management and consultative business development.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently exceed established revenue, growth, and customer retention objectives.
Executive Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary strategic advisor for assigned accounts by providing restoration expertise, emergency preparedness planning, and business continuity solutions.
- Conduct executive business reviews, facility assessments, and risk evaluations to identify opportunities for expanded service offerings.
- Coordinate educational seminars, continuing education courses, Lunch & Learns, emergency response planning sessions, and industry presentations.
- Develop account growth strategies that increase customer lifetime value while strengthening long-term partnerships.
- Leverage CRM technology to manage pipeline activity, forecast revenue, and track performance metrics.
Community Leadership & Brand Development
- Represent SERVPRO as a visible leader within the business community through active participation in Chambers of Commerce, BNI organizations, trade associations, economic development initiatives, and professional networking groups.
- Cultivate strategic relationships with fire departments, emergency management agencies, law enforcement, public works, municipal leaders, and community organizations.
- Lead community outreach efforts, charitable partnerships, disaster preparedness programs, and sponsorship initiatives that reinforce SERVPRO's commitment to community resilience.
- Serve as a trusted spokesperson for the organization while enhancing brand awareness throughout the region.
Customer Success & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner closely with Operations, Project Management, Marketing, and Executive Leadership to ensure exceptional customer experiences from first contact through project completion.
- Advocate for customers by ensuring responsive communication, timely project execution, and long-term satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships through additional restoration, mitigation, reconstruction, and specialty cleaning services.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively resolve issues while fostering long-term client loyalty and repeat business.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline preferred.
- Five or more years of demonstrated success in business development, strategic account management, commercial sales, or relationship management.
- Proven experience developing executive-level relationships and managing complex sales cycles.
- Strong understanding of consultative selling, strategic prospecting, and client retention methodologies.
- Experience within restoration, insurance, construction, facilities management, commercial real estate, or property management is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Experience utilizing CRM platforms to manage sales activities and business performance.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
