**This position will support an aerospace/defense customer account that requires United States citizenship.
We are currently hiring a Conventional Lathe Machinist. This role produces components by setting up and operating conventional lathes meeting high safety and quality standards and maintaining equipment and supplies. A successful conventional lathe machinist is safety-focused, a problem solver and understands the importance of precision and quality. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Raw material incoming visual inspection
Performing manufacturing operations on conventional lathes
Machining parts to meet tolerances for final inspection.
Inspecting and cleaning the finished product at the end of the production cycle
Working closely with manufacturing leadership and fellow team members to achieve shared goals.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks.
Accurate completion of required documentation.
Observes all company policies and procedures, including safety rules, and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
Perform other tasks as necessary or assigned by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a transferrable industry with transferrable skills.
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations including the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, geometry & trigonometry to practical situations.
Ability to interpret blueprints and other technical documents.
Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and follow up on multiple tasks/projects.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to meet production goals for quality and quantity.
High level of dependability.
Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods in noisy and temperature-variable environments.
Use of hands and fingers to touch, handle, grip, feel, and grasp.
Occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds when crane is not available.
Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK SCHEDULE:
We observe a 4/10 alternative work schedule. We work four 10-hour days totaling 40 hours and have every Friday off.
First Shift Schedule: 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Thursday. Flexibility to work overtime on Fridays 5:00 AM to 1 PM as needed.
PAY RANGE:
$27 - 38 per hour DOE
