HR Specialist
Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA (On-Site)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Covering LOA 6 plus months
Pay: $27 to $30 per hour
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dynamic HR Specialist to support and enhance our human resources operations in our Downtown Los Angeles office. This role will be responsible for managing key HR functions including employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and HR systems. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer daily HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, and employee record management
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and HR procedures
- Support employee relations efforts by assisting with investigations and resolving workplace concerns
- Ensure compliance with federal, state (California), and local employment laws and regulations
- Coordinate benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and employee education
- Partner with Talent Acquisition teams to support hiring processes and new hire onboarding
- Maintain accurate HRIS data and generate reports as needed
- Assist with performance management processes and employee development initiatives
- Support internal HR projects, audits, and process improvements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 2-5 years of HR experience in a generalist or specialist capacity
- Strong knowledge of California labor laws and HR best practices
- Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, UKG)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP)
- Experience working in a fast-paced or multi-site environment
