Responsibilities
- Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety through attentive child supervision and behavior management.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and youth group activities that foster development and teamwork.
- Maintain a structured classroom environment with effective classroom management techniques to promote positive behavior.
- Assist children with homework or tutoring needs, providing support tailored to individual learning styles.
- Follow first aid protocols and be prepared to respond promptly in case of minor injuries or emergencies using CPR or AED when necessary.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and team members to communicate children’s progress and address any concerns.
- Uphold all childcare standards, including child development best practices, safety procedures, and program guidelines.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, and AED operation is required; ongoing training is encouraged.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom or group setting effectively with strong leadership skills.
- Experience in outdoor work environments or outdoor activity facilitation is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members.
- Background in special education or experience working with children with diverse needs is a plus.
