North Berwick Elementary School is seeking a flexible and reliable person to serve as a permanent substitute teacher. A Permanent Building Substitute is utilized to fill a variety of roles including classroom teacher, allied arts teacher, ed tech, and clerical responsibilities. Building substitutes are guaranteed work each student day from 8:10am-3:30pm and are the first substitutes to be assigned when staff absences arise. Prior experience working in public schools is a plus.
Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to: Effectively manage a classroom of students by keeping them on task and engaged while following lesson plans left by the regular classroom teacherAssumes all duties and responsibilities of the absent teacherMaintain a positive learning environmentMaintain student and staff confidentiality Assist with non-classroom duties when assigned
