American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist for a night shift position in a Diagnostic Imaging department, requiring ARDMS registration, an OBMI License, and a minimum of 2 years of ultrasound experience.

Work in a hospital Diagnostic Imaging department performing diagnostic sonography

Imaging areas include OB/GYN, abdomen, breast, vascular, and small parts
-
Night shift schedule, Thursday through Saturday, 3x12-hour shifts per week

May be floated to other departments where qualified before core staff is floated

Minimum of 2 years of ultrasound experience required

ARDMS registration required

OBMI License required (license required if applicable)

Current BLS and NRP certifications required

Associate's or Bachelor's degree from a CAHEA-accredited sonography program or equivalent

CRASE training preferred; required if assignment extends beyond 6 months

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs independently and assist with repositioning patients over 100 lbs using appropriate techniques or mechanical aids

Must be able to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift

Serves as an advanced user and in-house training resource for peers, vendors, and applications personnel across all clinical ultrasound applications and workflows

Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, operating ultrasound equipment, evaluating image quality, and assisting licensed practitioners with interventional procedures

Corroborates patient clinical history with procedure and ensures documentation is available to the licensed practitioner

May prepare, identify, and/or administer contrast media or medications as prescribed and permitted by state statute and institutional policy

Participates in department quality assessment and improvement activities, which may include specific quality control duties and inventory management

Provides practical instruction for students and other healthcare professionals

Role involves frequent exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials; adherence to Universal Precautions and PPE protocols is expected

Fast-paced, unpredictable healthcare environment requiring the ability to respond to changing and high-pressure situations
