Job Summary
New Freedom Inc. is seeking a compassionate and dependable Substance Use Disorder Technician to support individuals receiving substance use disorder treatment in our Minnesota 245G-licensed program. This role provides direct client support, helps maintain a safe and structured environment, and works closely with clinical staff to support individuals in their recovery journey.
Responsibilities
- Support clients with daily recovery activities and program participation
- Monitor client well-being and report concerns to clinical staff
- Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment
- Document client interactions, observations, and incidents accurately and timely
- Assist with client transportation as needed
- Encourage positive behaviors and recovery-focused routines
- Maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality
- Follow all program policies, HIPAA regulations, and 245G requirements
- Attend staff meetings and required trainings
QualificationsRequired
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Minnesota driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Experience working with individuals affected by substance use disorders
- Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills
- Basic computer skills and experience with electronic health records (EHR)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
- Experience in behavioral health, residential treatment, or recovery support services
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and person-centered care
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
