Work Arrangement: Hybrid – Approximately 1/3 office, 1/3 project sites, 1/3 work from home
Salary: $100,000–$150,000+, depending on experience and level
Bonus: Approximately $10,000 annually
About the Role
We are seeking a senior Building Enclosures & Diagnostics professional to investigate building-envelope failures, lead restoration and rehabilitation projects, manage client relationships, and support business development. Strong junior candidates may also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate water intrusion, moisture, humidity, and building-enclosure failures.
- Diagnose deterioration and failure mechanisms in existing buildings.
- Evaluate waterproofing systems, vapor barriers, windows, doors, façades, and related enclosure components.
- Perform condition assessments and forensic investigations and develop repair recommendations.
- Develop restoration and rehabilitation solutions for existing buildings.
- Manage technical projects, reports, proposals, and documentation.
- Communicate with owners, architects, attorneys, insurers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Build client relationships and contribute to business development.
- Travel to Los Angeles-area project sites as required.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant building-enclosure, building-envelope, forensic, restoration, or diagnostics experience preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Registered Architect (RA) credential required.
- Strong experience with existing-building diagnostics, restoration, rehabilitation, or forensic investigation.
- Deep knowledge of building-enclosure science, materials, deterioration, and failure mechanisms.
- Experience with waterproofing, vapor barriers, windows, doors, water intrusion, moisture, and humidity.
- Strong ability to diagnose building-envelope problems.
- Project-management and client-facing experience.
- Ability to contribute to business development.
Preferred
- Existing book of business or established client relationships.
- Strong relationships with architectural firms.
- Relationships with architectural firms, attorneys, insurers, or property owners.
- Structural Engineer (SE) license.
- Experience developing proposals and winning consulting work.
