Radiology Reading Room Assistant
Methodist Hospital – Radiology
The Radiology Reading Room Assistant provides administrative, workflow, and communication support to Radiology teams to ensure efficient operations, timely communication, and high‑quality patient care. This role serves as a central point of coordination between radiologists, clinical staff, and operational systems in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.
Hybrid Work Option
Eligible after six (6) months, contingent upon successful completion of training, demonstrated competency, and operational approval. At least 1 remote work day
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Triage incoming calls and facilitate timely, accurate communication among radiologists, clinical personnel, and support teams
Monitor and manage the Radiology task board to support efficient workflow and prioritization
Provide operational support to radiologists, including assistance with reports, images, and basic IT-related issues
Maintain reading room readiness and provide coverage as needed to support continuity of operations
Provide basic administrative and technical support to leaders and departmental teams
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve routine administrative and technical issues as they arise
Adhere to departmental policies, confidentiality standards, and regulatory requirements
At 6 Months:
Demonstrates consistent accuracy and reliability
Communicates effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Provides dependable coverage and begins contributing to process improvement initiatives
At 12 Months:
Recognized as a trusted and dependable team member
Demonstrates near‑perfect execution of job duties
Actively contributes to workflow optimization and improved patient experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a high‑volume environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to maintain professionalism and clarity under pressure
Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving ability
Proficient in healthcare electronic systems; Cerner experience preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required
0–3+ years of relevant experience; prior administrative or healthcare experience preferred
Experience working in a matrixed or complex organizational environment a plus
