Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, and other health conditions. Responsibilities
- Teaching clients how to do daily living activities
- Supporting skill development and independence
- Support individuals during community outings or recreational activities to promote social engagement and independence
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols, performing cleaning duties, and ensuring proper use of assistive devices
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with privacy regulations such as HIPAA and facility policies
- Requirements
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities or autism
- Certification or training in First Aid and CPR is preferred; training will be given if not
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks involved in patient care
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers
- Demonstrated patience, compassion, and a positive attitude toward caring for vulnerable populations
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of resident information
- Valid background check clearance; flexibility to work various shifts
- Reliable transportation
