Responsibilities
- Implement behavior intervention plans developed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to promote skill acquisition and reduce challenging behaviors
- Collect and record data on client progress, behavior incidents, and skill development accurately and consistently
- Assist children with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting to support independence
- Use applied behavior analysis techniques to teach communication, social skills, and adaptive behaviors in various settings
- Collaborate with team members to develop and update individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs
- Maintain confidentiality of all medical records and adhere to HIPAA regulations during documentation and communication
- Foster a positive, supportive environment that encourages learning, engagement, and emotional well-being
Skills
- Strong understanding of behavioral therapy principles and applied behavior analysis methodologies
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder
- Ability to assist with ADLs and implement teaching strategies for skill development
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting to monitor client progress effectively
- Knowledge of medical terminology, documentation practices, and maintaining accurate medical records
- Excellent patience, communication skills, and the ability to manage challenging behaviors with care management techniques
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards in healthcare settings
