Overview
The Clubhouse Manager is responsible for leading daily clubhouse operations, including dining, kitchen operations, catering, banquets, front office services, and non-golf-related clubhouse activities. This role ensures an exceptional experience for members and guests by maintaining high standards of service, hospitality, cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency. The Clubhouse Manager provides leadership across all clubhouse functions and fosters a collaborative environment that supports the overall success of WLCC.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops operating budgets for each revenue outlet, including the bar, restaurant, and catering operations; monitors performance after board approval and takes corrective action as needed to achieve budget goals.
- Ensures standard operating procedures for revenue management and cost control are established, followed, and consistently evaluated.
- Elevates food service quality and enhances the overall member dining experience through attentive service, presentation, and ambiance.
- Supports planning and approval of internal marketing and promotional activities for food and beverage services.Attends committee meetings as directed and coordinates clubhouse support for social events and member activities.
- Participates, as needed, in long-range planning, admissions, and finance discussions related to clubhouse operations.
- Plans and manages long-range staffing needs to ensure appropriate coverage, service quality, and operational efficiency.
- Oversees the day-to-day operation of the clubhouse and ensures departments work together to deliver a consistent member and guest experience.
- Ensures effective onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development for new and experienced staff.
- Inspects facilities and operations to ensure safety, sanitation, energy management, preventive maintenance, and service standards are consistently met.
- Establishes clear performance, productivity, and quality standards for clubhouse personnel.
- Develops, implements, and maintains policies and procedures for food and beverage operations.
- Assists with planning and executing special club events, banquet functions, and related service procedures.
- Greets members and guests and routinely observes service delivery to ensure consistency, professionalism, and hospitality.
- Develops and supports promotional programs that encourage member engagement and participation.
- Responds to member and guest concerns promptly and professionally, communicating corrective actions to the WLCC Board of Directors as appropriate.
- Identifies and implements creative ways to increase member involvement in clubhouse activities and club events.
- Maintains the appearance, cleanliness, organization, and upkeep of all food and beverage equipment, service spaces, and related facilities.
- Reviews and approves product invoices before submitting them to the accounting department.
- Maintains accurate records for special events, house counts, food covers, and daily business volume.
- Collaborates with department heads on special projects assigned by the WLCC Board of Directors.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervises clubhouse food and beverage service staff and managers, including food preparation staff and the assistant manager.
- Interviews, selects, trains, supervises, coaches, and provides corrective guidance to service employees.
- Develops ongoing training and professional development programs that support service excellence and employee growth.
- Ensures compliance with applicable employment, wage and hour, safety, sanitation, and alcoholic beverage laws and regulations.
- Promotes consistent, professional, and courteous service for all members and guests.
- Maintains a safe, respectful, and productive work environment for employees in all areas of responsibility.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
- A minimum of five years of related experience in an upscale hospitality environment is required. Experience in a private club, resort, restaurant, or similar hospitality setting is preferred.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence and communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers, members, and club employees.
Computer Skills
- Proficiency with email, internet applications, word processing, spreadsheets, and point-of-sale systems is required. Familiarity with graphics or design programs is desirable.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and use the POS system to produce sales and business reports as requested by the WLCC Board of Directors.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply sound judgment, follow written and verbal instructions, and resolve practical problems involving multiple variables in a professional manner.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
- Valid driver’s license
- Maintain a Serv-Safe certification
Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
