We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our childcare center team, responsible for providing a nurturing and educational environment for children aged 1-3 years old. The ideal candidate should have a strong desire to work with children (a background in early childhood education is required), possess creativity in developing learning activities, and exhibit exceptional care and responsibility in their role.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Implementation:
- Follow and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
- Design and execute creative and engaging learning activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
2. Child Care:
- Provide attentive and loving care to children.
- Change diapers and assist with potty training, promoting independence and self-help skills.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom and bathroom for the children.
- Ability to routinely lift to 40 pounds and sustain hours of active work such as bending, standing, or walking.
3. Flexibility and Adaptability:
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to changes in routines.
- Demonstrate flexibility in handling various responsibilities throughout the day.
4. Bilingual Skills:
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a significant plus, enhancing the ability to communicate effectively with children and parents from diverse backgrounds.
5. Meal Preparation:
- Assist in meal prepping, ensuring nutritious and well-balanced meals for children.
- Serve meals and snacks in a manner that encourages healthy eating habits.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized meal area and assist in cleaning children after meals.
6. Collaboration:
- Work closely with other childcare staff to maintain a cohesive and supportive team environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents using childcare applications, providing updates on children's activities, development, and well-being.
Qualifications:
1. Educational Background:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Early Childhood Education degree or relevant certification is highly desirable.
2. Experience:
- Experience in a childcare setting, with a focus on the 1-3 age group, is required.
- Previous experience in developing and implementing age-appropriate learning activities is highly desirable.
4. Communication Skills:
- Verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus.

1. DCF's Child Care Training Requirements:
- Candidates must complete DCF's Child Care Training Requirements. For more information on requirements, please visit DCF's Child Care Training Requirements website.
- DCF 45 Training hours are required for this position.
- You will be asked to complete the School Readiness preservice training hours before your first day.
2. CPR and First Aid Certifications:
- Possession of CPR and First Aid certifications is required.
3. Commitment to Ongoing Education:
- A strong commitment to continuing education and regular training is a fundamental requirement. Childcare personnel are expected to complete a minimum of 10 hours of relevant training annually, ensuring they stay current with industry best practices and developments.
- Teachers are also required to complete Teachstone's CLASS training and/or any other trainings required by DCF or the Early Learning Coalition, which may be in addition to the 10 in-service training requirement.
4. Background Screening
- Willing to obtain level 2 background screening clearance
