We are seeking a high-energy, highly structured Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or CSAC-Supervisee to drive our clinical operations forward! In this role, you will deliver comprehensive substance use disorder treatment, facilitate high-impact therapeutic groups, and manage clinical caseloads. You will work closely with Credentialed Addiction Treatment Professionals (CATPs) to deliver evidence-based care aligned with Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS), ASAM criteria, and DBHDS licensing requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Practice & Group Facilitation
- Facilitate Group Therapy: Lead daily, intensive clinical therapy groups (up to 5 hours per day for Level 2.5 programs) utilizing evidence-based modalities like CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing. [1]
- Individual Counseling: Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to assist clients in identifying triggers, developing coping mechanisms, and building relapse prevention plans. [1, 2]
- Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct initial intake evaluations, substance use history reviews, and ongoing clinical assessments. [1]
DBHDS Treatment Planning
- Develop Individualized Service Plans (ISPs): Formulate, review, and update measurable, person-centered ISPs that strictly adhere to DBHDS licensing regulations under 12VAC35-105-590. [1, 2, 3, 4]
- Discharge Planning: Coordinate transitions of care, matching clients with appropriate step-down services (e.g., transitioning from Level 2.5 PHP to Level 2.1 IOP).
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
