Pay Range: $24.85 - $37.35 per hour
The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

What You'll Do
As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll play a critical role in patient safety by ensuring surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, inspected, assembled, sterilized, and ready when needed.
You will:
- Prepare surgical instrument trays and supplies for procedures.

Clean, decontaminate, inspect, and assemble surgical instruments.

Operate autoclaves and other sterilization equipment.

Disassemble and reassemble complex instrument sets.

Verify instruments are functioning properly and meet quality standards.

Restock supplies and maintain inventory levels.

Distribute instruments, equipment, and supplies throughout surgical and procedural areas.

Maintain sterilization records and documentation.

Clean and maintain department equipment.

Work closely with surgical teams to help ensure procedures start on time and safely.

Follow infection prevention and patient safety standards at all times.
What You'll Bring
Required
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

One of the following:
- Minimum three (3) months of Sterile Processing Technician experience; or
-
Completion of a Sterile Processing Technician training course; or
-
Current CRCST or CBSPD certification.

Basic computer skills.
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Also Considered Relevant Experience
Experience in roles involving the cleaning, decontamination, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation may be considered, including:
- Veterinary Technician

Dental Technician
-
Surgical Support Aide
-
Other related medical technician positions
Certification Requirement
Within one year of hire, employees must obtain one of the following nationally recognized certifications:
- CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) through HSPA/IAHCSMM, or
-
CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) through CBSPD, or
-
Another nationally recognized sterile processing certification approved by PeaceHealth.
