Our fast-paced, state-of-the-art periodontal surgery practice is looking for a warm and enthusiastic customer service specialist to join our established front office team. The ideal candidate has a strong and demonstrated work ethic, appreciates the importance of details and accuracy in their position, is computer savvy, is comfortable taking direction and eager to learn new systems, and above all, values the importance of teamwork and communication in providing exceptional care to our patients. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth operations within our practice, and familiarity with dental terminology and electronic record systems is highly valued, but not required.
Responsibilities
· Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing a positive first impression of the practice.
· Manage phone systems, including answering calls, scheduling appointments, and directing inquiries to appropriate team members.
- Maintain patient records and documentation with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
- Review patient documentation to ensure completeness and compliance with practice policies.
- Collaborate with surgical team to facilitate patient flow and address any issues that arise during appointments.
- Coordinate care with referring doctors, including dentist, anesthesiologist, laboratory, and patient.
- Present sometimes complex treatment plans to patients, answer their questions, and collect and post payments for treatment.
- Familiarize yourself with dental and specialized surgical terminology for effective communication within the practice and its referring doctors.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not essential.
- Proficiency in using phone systems and basic office equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and eagerness to learn new systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional and cheerful demeanor.
