Position available for an EXPERIENCED OPTICIAN with some TECH experience. At least ONE YEAR OF EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. Starting hourly compensation is $18. Increases with responsibilities.

Optometric technicians assist the doctor with routine and specialty testing. You will be trained to assist our doctor with patient care. You will work one on one with patients and assist with contact lens orders and processing. You will also learn about Opticianry and assist customers with frame selection, eyewear fitting and vision plan reimbursement. This job involves constant patient interaction in person and over the phone, so a sociable and extroverted personality is a must.
A typical day as a patient care tech and optician can include (but is not limited to)
- Interpreting the prescriptions written by the eye doctor and creating a work order for the lens lab
- Taking eye measurements
- Adjusting and repairing eyeglass frames
- Educating customers on high quality products that fit their lifestyle
- Pre-testing patients and prep for exam
- Ancillary testing
- Processing Contact lens orders and maintenance of Trial Sets
- Follow up with patients
- Answering phones and reception
- Greeting and meeting new patients
- Assisting your co-workers

Experience

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
