About the Role
The primary purpose of the Vascular Technologist position is to perform noninvasive vascular testing on inpatients and outpatients, ensure appropriate and timely documentation of studies performed and maintain laboratory space, supplies, and equipment. This position contributes to an effective performance improvement program for the Vascular Laboratory that is consistent with the overall University Hospital plan and with Intersocietal Committee for Accreditation of Vascular Laboratory (IAC) standards. Enhances knowledge to ensure practices are consistent with "state of the art" vascular laboratory procedures.
What You’ll Do
- Performs daily volume of tests consistent with productivity standards.

Follows vascular laboratory protocols.

Informs vascular/referring physicians of all critical test values within 15 minutes of discovery.

Coordinates the testing of patients to maintain optimal productivity.

Prepares patients for each specific test performed and explains test procedures.

For outpatients asks appropriate questions to obtain history pertaining to the exam; for inpatients examines the chart thoroughly for the pertinent clinical history.

Operates equipment according to manufacturer's recommendations and department policies.

Interacts with the physician and nursing staff regarding the patient's conditions.

Performs all tests in accordance with departmental and Intersocietal Committee for Accreditation of Vascular Laboratory (IAC) standards.
- Reviews test results with reading physicians in a timely manner.
Actively participates in Vascular Lab quality assurance meetings in reviewing test quality.

What You’ll Bring
Required:

Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) approved ultrasound school or vascular technology program is required.
- Registered Vascular Technician (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) required.
- Annual Respirator Fit Testing required.

Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is TT/2800 - $42.34 - $42.84 - $44.12 per hour, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
