RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator, Med-Surg
Location: Kansas City, MO
Shift: Days 7a-7p or Nights 7p-7a, rotating weekends
Pay: $35.65-$47.64/hr + $4/hr night/weekend differential
Sign-On/Relocation: Case by case
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) to support daily operations and provide high-quality, patient-centered care on a Med-Surg unit. The CNC serves as a clinical resource, supports staff, and helps ensure efficient unit operations and positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee nursing care during the assigned shift.
- Support admissions, discharges, patient flow, and throughput.
- Serve as a clinical resource and role model for nursing staff.
- Assist with staff scheduling, training, development, and performance management.
- Support quality improvement, patient satisfaction, and service recovery initiatives.
- Monitor staffing, supplies, equipment, and productivity.
- Promote teamwork and a patient-first care environment.
Requirements
- Strong, recent acute-care Med-Surg RN experience is required.
- Preferred: Recent Med-Surg Charge RN experience.
- Candidates without Charge experience may be considered with at least 2 years of recent Med-Surg staff RN experience.
- Med-Surg experience must be current/recent, not from several years ago.
- Active RN license in the state of practice or compact license.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- BSN preferred.
- BLS and ACLS required within 30 days of start.
- Must be comfortable working with a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.
