Summary
The Logistics Coordinator will serve as the key point of contact for delivery-related matters across Mowi USA. The role will work closely with Sales, drivers, carriers, warehouse teams, and Operations leadership. The Coordinator will manage product distribution throughout the U.S., with a strong focus on LTL & FTL transportation. This position will support on-time, cost-effective deliveries and help resolve logistics issues as they arise.
Responsibilities
Core Expectations

Shipment Planning & Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Sales, account managers, freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokerage, warehouse teams, and Operations leadership on delivery-related matters.
- Manage daily logistics activities from Mowi plants, including shipment planning, tracking, delivery scheduling, and exception management.
- Monitor shipments in transit and proactively address delays or issues. Adjust delivery plans and schedules as needed to support customer and operational requirements.
- Ensure cold-chain compliance for prepaid customer shipments throughout the transportation process.
- Schedule delivery appointments for consolidated truckloads and coordinate inbound raw materials with third-party freezer facilities.
- Take ownership of urgent or unexpected logistics issues and coordinate solutions through resolution.
LTL & FTL Carriers & Freight Management
- Coordinate LTL & FTL transportation activities, including carrier and broker selection, rate comparisons, shipment planning, tracking, and issue resolution.
- Develop and maintain a diverse network of trucking companies and 3PL partners. Assign or adjust lanes based on service levels and carrier performance.
- Serve as the primary contact for trucking companies supporting U.S. product distribution.
- Evaluate freight options and make timely, data-driven decisions based on rates, transit times, carrier performance, service requirements, and operational risk.
- Work with the Miami Mowi USA Supervisor to identify cost-effective freight solutions while supporting 100% OTIF (On-Time In-Full) performance.
- Research carrier claims, conduct fact-based investigations, and recommend appropriate actions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with Sales, Production, Planning, Warehousing, brokers, and carriers to ensure transportation plans align with product availability and customer needs.
- Review broker and carrier performance and identify opportunities to improve service, cost, and partner selection.
- Assist with projects focused on improving processes, transportation efficiency, and business results.
- Cross-train across Logistics Coordinator responsibilities to ensure appropriate coverage when team members are unavailable.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess situations and develop practical solutions.
- Advanced Excel skills required.
- Strong IT and systems skills.
- Ability to work effectively and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision while collaborating effectively with others.
- Ability to remain professional and composed when handling high-pressure or time-sensitive situations.
- Availability outside regular business hours when needed to address urgent logistics issues.
- Hands-on experience with LTL & FTL transportation and knowledge of freight market dynamics is highly preferred.
- Experience with refrigerated, perishable, or temperature-controlled transportation is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an approachable and collaborative working style.
Education
- High School Diploma (required).
- Bachelor Degree preferred; a combination of education and/or experience in lieu of Degree.
