As we continue to grow, we are looking for a highly motivated Fitness Center Manager to lead daily operations, develop our team, enhance the member experience, and drive business growth.
In this leadership role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensure exceptional member experiences, manage staff performance, drive membership growth, and help foster a positive, high-energy culture focused on health and wellness. The ideal candidate is passionate about fitness, possesses strong leadership skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where building relationships and creating outstanding member experiences are top priorities.
Duties
- Oversee daily fitness center operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all members and guests
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of coaches, trainers, and front desk staff to provide exceptional customer service
- Manage staff scheduling, performance evaluations, and ongoing team development
- Conduct facility tours, fitness consultations, and membership sales appointments
- Oversee new member onboarding and ensure a positive client experience from first contact through long-term retention
- Manage member concerns, feedback, and service recovery efforts promptly and professionally
- Collaborate with ownership to achieve membership growth, retention, and revenue goals
- Coordinate fitness challenges, special events, workshops, and community outreach initiatives
- Oversee social media engagement, local marketing efforts, and referral programs
- Manage lead generation and follow-up processes to maximize conversion of prospects into members
- Monitor facility cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and operational standards
- Manage administrative responsibilities, including reporting, inventory management, and operational documentation
- Track and analyze key performance indicators including memberships, retention, attendance, revenue, and client satisfaction
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a fitness center, gym, wellness facility, hospitality environment, or related industry
- Strong management skills with the ability to oversee daily operations and lead a high-performing team
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities
- Experience with membership sales, client retention, and business growth initiatives
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with scheduling software, CRM systems, and business reporting
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of fitness, health, wellness, and member engagement best practices
- Experience with social media marketing, content creation, and community outreach is preferred
- Personal training, fitness, or health coaching certifications are a plus
