Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Groundskeeper to maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and curb appeal of our apartment community. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail, and enjoys working outdoors in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the community grounds.
- Pick up litter and debris throughout the property, including parking lots, sidewalks, breezeways, and common areas.
- Empty trash receptacles and ensure dumpster areas remain clean and organized.
- Assist with landscaping tasks including mowing, edging, trimming, weeding, pruning, watering, and planting.
- Monitor irrigation systems and report any issues.
- Clean and maintain amenities such as pools, fitness centers, clubhouses, dog parks, and playgrounds.
- Remove leaves, branches, and other debris from grounds and drainage areas.
- Assist maintenance staff with apartment turns, moving appliances, and other general labor tasks as needed.
- Report safety hazards, property damage, and maintenance concerns to management.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company policies and safety standards.
- Respond to weather-related property needs, including storm preparation and cleanup.
Qualifications
- Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, or property maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to operate landscaping equipment and hand tools safely.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, professional appearance.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
