Job Summary
Lightfoot Elementary is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as a Grade 4 Teacher. This full-time position requires a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment where students can thrive academically and socially. The ideal candidate will be skilled in developing engaging lesson plans, implementing effective teaching strategies, and assessing student progress to promote growth and achievement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and resources to engage students in the learning process.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through formal and informal assessments, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance curriculum and instructional practices.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress reports.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and address any concerns.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and best practices.
- Support students' social and emotional development, promoting a positive classroom culture.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other school activities as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid teaching certification for Grade 4 or equivalent or willing to obtain.
- Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
- Experience in differentiating instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
