Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs
- Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately for retail sales transactions and handle cash drawer with integrity
- Process payments efficiently using POS systems, including credit/debit cards and cash handling
- Upsell products by recommending additional items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure merchandise is well-presented and replenished regularly
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Provide knowledgeable answers about store products, promotions, and store policies to enhance customer experience
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math for accurate transactions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in both English and bilingual settings if applicable
- Ability to handle cash handling procedures responsibly and maintain an organized cash drawer
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette
- Basic math skills for balancing registers and performing sales calculations
Pay: From $14.00 per hour
